Dolenjska region
Dolenjska - part of the southeastern part of Slovenia, which is characterized by thermal springs, vineyards dotted hills, rivers Kolpa and Krka, Kočevje virgin forests and rich cultural heritage.
In the area of Dolenjska you can find two spas (Terme Šmarješke Spa and Terme Dolenjske Spa), which are a major impact on shaping the overall tourist offer of the area.
Dolenjska hills are covered with vineyards, which provide an excellent indigenous wines such as Cviček, Metlika blackness and belokranjec. Tourism in the vine cottages is very popular.
The riverr Kolpa and Krka are offering many opportunities for fun and sports (rafting, kayaking, canoeing). The river Kolpa is one of the warmest and cleanest rivers and in the summer months it attracts many swimmers. On both rivers you can find several campsites where you can also camp in tents, caravans and campers and also enjoy beach volleyball, football or table tennis.
Kočevje virgin forest is home to a variety of plants and animals, among them certainly worth mentioning bear, wolf and lynx. But Kočevje forest is also the place where one can experience the truly real contact with nature. The silence that prevails here allows deepening into yourself and is perfect if you want to discover your own secrets.
