Kranjska Gora
Kranjska Gora is a world-famous winter sports center, located in the Upper Sava Valley, at the foot of the Julian Alps and Karavanke. The area is located on the border with Italy and Austria and falls into the area of Triglav National Park.
Kranjska Gora is a mountain tourist resort which offers numerous possibilities for high quality leisure. Mountain lovers can climb to the top of Vitranc, Prisank, Razor or Mala Mojstrovka.
Near Kranjska Gora you can also find waterfall Peričnik, valleys Vrata, Kot and Krma, Russian Chapel on the pass Vrsic etc.
Rivers Sava, Bistrica and Pišnica are very attractive for the fishermen because of the trouts. In winter visitors can go skiing the slopes of Kranjska Gora. Kranjska Gora is also the organizer of the annual World Cup (Vitranc Cup) in Alpine skiing for men.
In Kranjska Gora writer Josip Vandot was born, author of stories about Kekec. Nowadays Kekec Land is popular for the youngest visitors, who can learn about the life of the hero of the film and escape into the mysterious world of fairy tales.
